Late nights at the libraryRed Dress Day and the National Day of Awareness for MMIWG2S

May 5 is Red Dress Day and the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People. It is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous people and to honour those lost. The day is also a call to action for governments and individuals to address the systemic issues that contribute to this violence.

The is an Indigenous-led grassroots movement of men and boys, standing up against violence towards women and children. Wearing a moose hide pin signifies your commitment to honour, respect, and protect women and children in your life and to work together to end violence against women and children, and all those along the gender continuum. The Moose Hide Campaign Day is May 15.
